Fantasia 2000
Fantasia 2000 at the Imax is something everyone should see. If you thought it was enough of a trip in a standard cinema try it on the huge screen. The whales (my favourite) are transcendental to say the least. I don’t know what kind of subwoofer they use at Imax, but more than once it pounded so hard I could feel it in my ribcage. The only warning I can give, apart from the phenomenal admission price, is that The Sorcerer’s Apprentice doesn’t stand up too well in this format. The film stock is too grainy for a start, but in general it’s just not as nice looking as it has otherwise been. But this is just one niggling disappointment, see it all and you’ll be amazed.
