Ok, what can I say… it's Die Hard. It's an action film and that's what you should expect when you go in. Having said that the film is pretty damn good! Unlike some of the lesser Die Hard films, e.g. 2 & 3, Die Hard 4.0 gets straight into the action. As for the plot… well… it does push the technical limits of what computer hackers can do… but it's not more extreme than The Net with Sandra Bullock.
The action is aplenty, with high calibre special effects, no dodgy CGI stuff (or at least minimal), A-grade foreign action stars (the French guy as in a Jet Li film) and furthermore the film is punctuated with good acting, great wit, and enough "humanity of heroism" to round it out into a pretty good film. Also the super nerd is Silent Bob star Kevin Smith with mandatory Star Wars jokes included!
It's an action movie and a damn good one.
