Becoming Jane

Starring Anne Hathaway, James Cromwell.

Becoming Jane tells the story of Jane Austen, the author of such novels as Sense and Sensibility and Pride and Prejudice, during her teenage years. An unabashed chick-flick, this is a wonderfully tear-jerking story that is bound to get any girl bawling in the cinema.

The story is well directed and stars a few familiar faces such as Anne Hathaway (as Jane), Julie Walters (as the over-bearing mother), James Cromwell (as the doting father) and Maggie Smith (as the wicked widower). The tale is one of love and loss, eerily similar to many of the novels for which Jane Austen is famous and a great film for anyone wanting to know more about Jane Austen or simply in need of a good chick-flick.
