Discussion List Policy
PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO READ THE IMPORTANT INFORMATION BELOW
The AUFS Discussion List is open to everyone, even people who are not AUFS members, and facilitates a general discussion about films in which everyone is free to shoot the breeze on whatever film-related topic they fancy, be it ranting about their favourite movie of all time, or steering fellow AUFS members away from a particularly crappy film upon which they have recently wasted $14.50.
This list is open to anyone with e-mail access, and is designed to be a forum for discussion, socialisation and information. As a result, there are rules on the content of messages that are posted to the list. We also ask that everyone follow basic netiquette, as you would for any other Internet message you'd write for a public message forum, such as a newsgroup.
A good guide for anyone in doubt would be to think of a message posted to the discussion list as being roughly equivalent to a published letter in a newspaper, such as On Dit. The audience is after all, much the same, other university members.

Some tips for writing emails for the list:
- Write well-structured emails and use short, descriptive subjects.
- Use smileys and other indications of the mood in which you are sending a message, especially if it may be interpreted as defamatory or rude without an indication of mood.
- Use the spell checker before you send out an email.
- Do not send unnecessary attachments.
- Only mark emails as important if they really are important.
- Writing in all CAPITALS is seen as shouting, don't send using all caps, it's rude!
